Day one: adventure awaits
Rise and shine with yoga
Rise with the sun and wander through the rainforest to arrive in a calm and zen-like state for yoga, complimentary for all Resort guests. Stretch and sweat to the sounds of our local birdlife while breathing in the ocean air.
For those that prefer to work out in the comfort of their suite, take advantage of your personal in-suite yoga mat to ground you in your yoga, barre, Pilates or meditation practice. Partnering with The Indigo Project, we've developed four guided meditations: gratitude, grounding, manifesting and body scanning, all available on your in-suite iPad.
Our hot tip: “Each of our yoga instructors has different strengths and unique styles so you can choose a class that works best for you and your mood. Our Experience Curators are always happy to chat with guests about what will work best for them.” Wilhelmina Kellner, Guest Experience Manager
Our daily complimentary yoga practice is held in the poolside yoga. Please check with the Front Desk team for seasonal schedule.
Breakfast in Forest
Follow your nose in the direction of coffee (poured by our dedicated barista) to our restaurant, Forest, for breakfast. Set next to a lush rainforest oasis, Forest celebrates sustainability working hand-in-hand with local farmers, growers and artisans. Indulge with a classic avocado toast or keep it light with a smoothie bowl.
Breakfast hours are from 7:30am - 10:30am daily.
Explore by bicycle
Belly full, it’s time to explore. Grab one of our complimentary bicycles and follow the bicycle paths (over 80 kilometres of them!) into the town centre or out towards the Industrial Estate for some shopping. Here you’ll find local labels such as Naganta, Rowie The Label, Tigmi Trading, and, of course, sustainable St. Agni (our personal favourite) among others. We love St. Agni so much we’ve dressed our entire Experience Curator team in their clothing. Pop past the front desk for some outfit inspo.
Our hot tip: “Since Byron Bay is mostly flat, it’s really easy to get around by bicycle. Exploring the town by bicycle also means you’ll avoid the traffic. On weekends I love tossing a towel, good book and water bottle in basket and heading to the nearest beach.” Pascale Rocher, Marketing Manager
Get your caffeine fix
Worked up a thirst? With so many great little caffeine haunts in and around town, it can be difficult to decide which one to choose. Luckily, we’ve shortlisted five of our favourites and why we love them in our guide to Byron Bay coffee spots.
Spend the afternoon poolside
Work up a salty sweat on the tennis court before plunging into our infinity pool (extra laps optional) or simply pull up a lounger and call it day with a good book. There is no denying the delicious feeling of indulgence as your peer over the rim of your frosty cocktail and watch the world pass by. Margaritas for lunch? No judgement. But if you feel like something more substantial our Blue Bar serves snacks and light meals all afternoon.
Eat like a local
Contemporary, social, approachable and distinctly Australian, Forest, led by Executive Chef Jordan Staniford, embraces the Northern Rivers region’s abundance of stunning ingredients. Passionately local, over 80% of Forest’s ingredients come from within a three-hour drive of the Resort. Every Thursday, Chef Jordan visits the Byron Farmers Markets to source the freshest ingredients for our special three-course Market Menu.
Our hot tip: “In my eyes, you can’t eat out in Byron Bay until you’ve visited Forest for a meal overlooking the rainforest and a chilled cocktail.” Brett Walsh, Restaurant Manager
Forest serves dinner from 6:00pm - 8:30pm daily.
Day two: explore and recover
Sunrise beach walks
Tallow Beach, a seven kilometre stretch of beach, is short walk from the Resort and located between Cape Byron Conservation Area and Broken Head Nature Reserve. Join local dog walkers, fisherman and surfers as you catch the first rays of sun to hit Australia’s mainland. Follow the beach up to Cosy Corner, a sheltered section that will leave you feeling like you’re on your own private island. Belongil Beach, just a few minutes away is another local favourite.
“I live walking distance from Tallows Beach and watching the sun rise up over the Pacific is an absolute dream. In winter, we can often spot whales in the distance. I like to finish with a walk up to the lighthouse to really get my steps in for the day.” Monique Rutene, Operations Manager
Visit the Hinterland
Byron Bay’s hinterland is full of magical secrets from quaint gin distilleries to award-winning restaurants. Offering a lovely escape from the busyness of town, the hinterland offers rolling green hills, epic vistas, lush rainforest and waterfalls, quaint little villages, and friendly little hinterland communities, making it a wonderful place to explore.
Hot tip from our team: “The Byron Bay Hinterland has some of the best shopping (and dining) around. I’m renovating my house and am constantly scouring the little boutiques for hidden treasures. Right now I can’t get enough of the pottery and ceramics from Ruby & Frank Studio in Federal.” Charlotte Stone, Assistant Front Office Manager
Keep calm and spa on
Eléme Day Spa has been designed for the ever-evolving, ever-changing, magnificent you. Inspired by the healing powers of Byron Bay, discover restorative treatments reflecting our passion for natural healing. Full of zen vibes to clear and calm, cultivate a new level of radiance and walk out your best, dazzling self.
Our hot tip: “I always recommend the Well-Tuned Chakra Healing massage. We use a fluid combination of massage, specific essential oil blends and healing crystals in this deeply meditative body experience. This transcendental balancing session will realign the ‘chords’ of your seven main chakras to have your body, heart and soul humming in sweet harmony once again.” Clare Dinham-Wiltshire, Spa Manager
Eléme Day Spa is open from 10:00am to 6:00pm daily.
Sip cocktails on the Verandah
What better way to follow a day of discovery and delight in Byron Bay than to decompress and relax on our breezy, shaded Verandah, cocktail in hand. With views of the glittering swimming pool and rainforest beyond, the Verandah is the perfect place to start – or end – your evening. In winter, the space warms on crisp coastal nights with outdoor heaters and cosy blankets. Sip on a Mactini – made with Brookie’s Mac liqueur – or choose from a selection of both quirky and classic cocktails and a wine list curated by our very own Beverage Experience Manager. Serving a laid-back lunch and afternoon snacks, pull up a chair and christen it as your own.
Our hot tip: “On Friday and Saturday evenings our local gin distiller, Cape Byron Distillery, sets up a dedicated Gin Cart on our Verandah. It’s a great (and very insta-worthy) opportunity to sample of few of their cocktails.” Tracey Smith, Conference and Events Manager
The Verandah is open for lunch from 12:00pm - 3:00pm and snacks and drinks from 3:00pm - 9:00pm.
