Cape Byron Distillery
Cape Byron Distillery is a proud family owned & run distillery (the Brook Family & Jim McEwan) situated on the Brook family’s farm in the hinterland of Byron Bay. The distillery itself rests amongst the macadamia orchard & rainforest that the Brook’s have regenerated. Since taking ownership of the farm 30 years ago, the Brooks have regenerated and replanted over 35,000 subtropical rainforest trees, creating an oasis for native animals and birds. Of the 25 botanicals in Brookie’s Byron Dry Gin, 17 are sourced locally, many from our rainforest.
The Resort stocks and promotes the Brookie’s line of products in our restaurant, Forest, and offers “pop-up” bar experiences at our industry events. Guests can also select a Brookie’s pop-up bar experience as part of their corporate conference or wedding.
Brookfarm
Brookfarm is Australia's leading producer of premium quality Macadamia products. The family-owned and run farm is situated in the beautiful hinterland overlooking Byron Bay and is also home to the Cape Byron Distillery. The rich red fertile volcanic soils, high rainfall and the warm sub-tropical climate of the Byron Bay hinterland provides us with the ideal conditions for growing macadamias. They source the best premium ingredients from sustainable farms and are committed to delivering products using all-natural, non-GMO ingredients.
Crystalbrook Byron offers Brookfarm’s delicious muesli and premium macadamia nuts in our restaurant, Forest Byron Bay.
Stone & Wood Brewing Co
Stone & Wood Brewery is an independent craft brewery born and raised in Byron Bay, proudly local and independent. On average, their beer bottles are made from 50 per cent recycled content, while around 50 per cent of their cardboard packaging is made from recycled cardboard. The spent brewers’ grain is sent to farmers in the region for cattle feed, while their organic brewing waste, such as yeast and hops, is composted locally and used on Northern Rivers farms.
The resort stocks and promotes Stone and Wood’s line of products in our restaurant, Forest Byron Bay, and offers “pop-up” bar experiences at our industry events.
Husk Distillers
Located in Tumbulgum, northern NSW, Husk Distillers is Australia's first producer of Agricole rum, with the sugar cane grown on the distillery's property. As the only paddock to bottle rum distillery in Australia, they grow 100% of the sugar cane used to make their rum right on their farm.
The resort stocks and promotes the Husk line of products in our restaurant, Forest Byron Bay, and offers “pop-up” bar experiences at our industry events. Guests can also select a Husk’s pop-up bar experience as part of their corporate conference or wedding.
Byron Farmers’ Market
The Byron Bay Farmers Market is one of the most popular in the area. They are held every Thursday morning, beginning at 8:00am and finishing up around 11:00am. In addition to farm-fresh produce, a wide selection of find kitchen staples are also available, including bread, coffee, honey, and olives.
Our restaurant features locally inspired, seasonal cuisine showcasing the best of Byron Bay’s farmers and fine food artisans.
VIBees - not a business, but local residents
With its 45-acres of subtropical rainforest, infinity pool and the sound of the Pacific Ocean in the distance, Crystalbrook Byron is a return to natural tranquillity. But resort guests aren’t the only ones finding sanctuary here as the property is now home to thousands of bees.
Nestled amongst the paperbarks at the edge of Tallow Creek Lake live the property’s VIBee residents – three thriving honeybee colonies each housed in their own Flow Hive.
The bees will be very busy over the coming months, foraging up to 20 square kilometres and visiting over one million flowers for every half kilo of honey produced. When the honey is ready, a portion will be served to resort guests as part of Crystalbrook Byron’s commitment to offering local, organic, sustainable cuisine.
Bees are one of the most effective pollinators on the planet and they are declining at high rates. European honeybees pollinate a third of our food crops, making a huge contribution to our food supply chain, our economy and the broader ecosystem.
The installation and maintenance of bee apiaries helps the environment by providing bees with a home to pollinate the surrounding gardens and native plants.
