Mindfully Safe Challenge
Step two: Habits
We sometimes keep destructive habits that we may not even be aware of. These habits show up in the form of negative self-talk, self-sabotaging, self-judgement, procrastination and the unending list of things we do that end up making us feeling like shit.
Today, think of a habit that brings you down. We all have one, so you’re not alone in this. There’s no need to beat yourself up, just recognise that it’s part of what makes us human and we can always, always turn things around.
Got a habit you’d like to change? Write it down. Think about WHY you want to let this habit go. What has it been hindering you from? What would your moments, day or life look like without
it?
Now, pick one of these habits instead. Only choose what you can commit to for the rest of this challenge:
10-minute morning meditation
Perfect for clearing your head of negative self-talk and setting yourself up for the day. Check out our playlist here
Three-page breakfast brain dump
Whip up your breakfast, grab your journal or three pieces of paper and a pen. Write down everything that comes to mind. E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G. Get all the voices, self-judgement and perfectionism down on paper and that’s where it’s going to stay.
Rise and don’t shine the phone in your face
Most of us have the habit of scrolling through our social media feeds the minute we wake up. Checking out your friends 5am workout routine or what they got up to last night isn’t going to help you in any way. When the alarm goes off, commit to leaving the bed and doing some easy stretches or yoga instead.
