Crystalbrook Collection proudly partners with Shine On Gimuy. Hosted by the Gimuy Walubara Yidinji Nation, Shine On Gimuy is a celebration of art, cultures, language, and history.
Festival highlights:
Art and Cultures: Immerse yourself in the beauty of First Nations art, through dazzling light soundscape art installations at the Artstory Light Walk, where the stories of Country come to life.
Music and Dance: In celebrating ‘Blak, Loud and Proud!’ the NAIDOC theme for 2024, the nights will come to life with the voices of First Nations musicians and singer-songwriters, at the Music Makers performances. Witness captivating cultural and contemporary dance performances that will bring you closer to the heartbeat of the world’s oldest continuous Cultures, at the Calling Country Ceremony, on Thursday 3 October, Cairns Esplanade.
Wisdom and Knowledge sharing: Shine On Gimuy brings together diverse experts in sharing stories and knowledge, while you discover the region's unique heritage and the stellar contributions of First Nations leaders. The Deep Wisdom Conversations feature a range of engaging topics such as Talk of Country and Truth-Telling: History, Futurism, Society and Sovereignty and Shaping the Future: Ancient to Modern, Rising Waters, Tensions, and Music Industry and Music Making.
